Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer different sizes?

The CRT and extended CRTs are all 1.25” outer diameter. The inside diameter is 1”. This means that for most men it will sit high up on the glans, allowing for more natural skin on glans contact. As a result, the CRT will work for the vast majority of men and no sizing is required. Custom diameters are not available.

Is a gripper included?

No gripper is included unless the option for the DTR gripper is selected. This is the new style DTR gripper from Chuck with holes. Gripper choice is very personal, which is why no gripper is included by default.

What gripper do you recommend?

The CRT is designed to work with DTR grippers (https://foreskinrestore.com/product/gripper/). It also works great with the replacement DTR grippers offered by Chris (https://www.chrisonlinestore.com/product-page/silicone-gripper-for-catii-or-dtr). Both work well. The DTR gripper has a little better grip and is thinner (and thus lower profile), and the chrisonlinestore gripper is a bit more comfortable. My daily go-to is the DTR gripper.

Does the CRT have a frenulum notch? Can you add one?

Because the CRT sits high on the glans, a frenulum notch is not generally needed. The inner diameter is 1”, so you can get an idea of where that would sit. There is not currently an option to add a notch.

What is important about vented devices?

Vented weighted devices allow the device to lift off the glans as the skin is stretched and help apply the tension to the skin and not the shaft. All devices I sell are vented.

Do you have to remove the CRT to urinate?

The CRT has a superior internal design allowing for reliable urination. Any bolt on external weights must be removed. Packer Stackers have the same internal shape and are sealed with an oring allowing the same reliable urination while installed.

Can you use the CRT while sleeping?

I strongly recommend against using the CRT or any hard device while sleeping. Soft retainers, like the chrisonlinestore retainer, are a much better option.

What is a good amount of weight to use?

The amount of weight is a matter of personal experience and preference, and people have different opinions on it. I can't tell you what is right for you, but can give a general guideline based on my experience. First, it's best to start low and work your way up to the target weight. You aren't building muscle and the amount of weight shouldn't be increased in definitely, but this gives you a chance to adjust and figure out what's right for you. I think the CRT at 3.8 oz by itself is a good place to start. Personally, I've found 7-9 oz to be a good amount for all day wear. For reference, Wayne Griffiths, one of the pioneers of foreskin restoration, used a device he invented called Foreballs for most of his restoration. This device was around 7 oz, so that indicates this is a sufficient weight.
